Remote Viewing, IANDS 2021, Wordsworth Poem

 ANNOUNCEMENTS

If you are interested at all in remote viewing, coming up is a rare event.  Joe McMoneagle,in my opinion, the greatest of all the original remote viewers in the former government program, is offering a special program at The Monroe Institute on how to develop your natural psychic ability, and collect information on anything, anywhere, at any time.  The dates are December 18-20 (virtual).  Sign up at info@monroeinstitute.org.

The 2021 IANDS Conference Program Proposal for giving a talk, is now available.  Read over the instructions for dos and don’ts and how to submit your proposal.  This will be the 40th Anniversary Celebration, and is slated to be held (we hope) in Arlington, VA, September 2-5, 2021.  Contact IANDS, services@iands.org, or you can call them (919) 383-7940.  Deadline for submission is 1-31-2021 at 11:59 pm EST.  We’ve had birthdays before, but none of them will be like this one.  Dr. Bruce Greyson will be out with his fabulous new book by then called “AFTER.”  Maybe, if we all blink twice, I might have my next book done by then, too.  No, it’s not another research project.  It’s more personal:  about my life, my deaths, and my research.

QUOTE

I promised Roger Marksmen in England that I would carry this quote from Wordsworth in my next blog.  Here it is:

“For I have learned

To look on nature, not as in the hour

Of thoughtless youth; but hearing oftentimes

The still sad music of humanity,

Not harsh or grating, though of ample power

To chasten and subdue.  And I have felt

A presence that disturbs me with the joy

Of elevated thoughts; a sense sublime

Of something far more deeply interfused,

Whose dwelling is the light of setting suns,

And the blue sky, and in the mind of man:

A motion and a spirit that impels

All thinking things, all objects of all thought,

And rolls through all things.”

February 2019 News & London, UK Talks & Workshops

The February newsletter is out now.  Please subscribe, if you haven’t already.  Just go to my Website at pmhatwater.com, then to Newsletter, fill out the form, and you’re in.  No cost. Notice there is an Archive of previous issues. You’ll want to visit some of them, maybe all.

The first week of March 1 - 6, I will be in London, England giving talks and workshops.  Connect with Daniel at the Neter Vital shop for more information.  Come if you can:  daniel@netervital.co.uk.

Scott Taylor, emcee at yearly IANDS conferences, has just been named the new CEO and Executive Director of the Monroe Institute.  A real plus for him and for both IANDS and the Monroe Institute.

There’s a new NDE book you might want to know about.  It is called Beyond The Mystical:  Near-Death Experience and Into The Unitive Experience, by Nancy Clark.  Most of you know that Nancyhad both an NDE (she regained consciousness in the morgue after being pronounced dead and toe-tagged), and a Near-Death-Like Experience while delivering a eulogy at the funeral of a dear friend. She has written several books, all of them exceptional, yet her devotion to God and to prayer skyrocketed afterwards, enabling her to reach heights of spirituality inspiring to many.

Recommended.

Behind all the joyful personal stories of being close to death and going to heaven, there is a rarely discussed fact: that a significant minority of near-death experiences are unpleasant. Please read this. One out of 7 in my research had more frightening or hellish experiences than heavenly, a few of them were children.

Papers, Conferences, Questions and Research

ANNOUNCEMENTS

· Miracle of miracles, two large major studies of electrical sensitivity have now been published in the Journal of Near-Death Studies, Vol. 33, No. 4, Summer 2015. It just came out, so, obviously the date on the Journal doesn’t mean much except for record keeping. If you are a near-death experiencer, you will want to obtain a copy of this Journal. You may do so by contacting IANDS (International Association for Near-Death Studies) at services@iands.org; (919) 383-7940. Mention of it may also be on their website – www.iands.org. Electrical sensitivity is a huge topic for most of us (me included).

· While you’re on the IANDS website, visit their Conference page. This year it will be held in Orlando, Florida, the last few days of July. Register now, secure your flight and hotel reservations. These conferences are always life changing.

· I am running out of questions for my Q&A blog. The number of this edition is #158. It is a monthly. That means I have been writing blog posts for over 13 years, tackling any number of subjects, always with the goal of setting the record straight and giving the best advice and information I can. If you want to keep this blog going, send me some questions via my website at www.pmhatwater.com. I must have your permission to use question/answer, so keep that in mind if you send anything.

· The research project I have been running about the littlest of the little (womb to five years old), who might have had a near-death experience or something like it – the deadline for submissions has been extended to mid-June. I keep extending it because of requests, especially in Europe, but there will be an end-date in June so hurry. To obtain the Call for Volunteers instructions, go to www.pmhatwater.com, on the Home Page is the link to the form (or download it here) and follow directions. Dying to Know: Proof of God in the Near-Death Experience and the IANDS Conference

*** Dying to Know You: Proof of God in the Near-Death Experience is now out. You can get a copy at any bookstore or through Amazon.com. If that bookstore does not have the book in stock, they can order it. This will alert them to carrying the book. Early testimonials are fantastic. This little book is changing minds and lives. . . already! Check my Engagement Calendar on the Home Page of my website for the many radio shows I am doing, and appearances. My website is www.pmhatwater.com. The September Newsletter is now out. If you don't subscribe, pleasedo. No money is involved. Just sign up on my website under "Newsletter."

*** The annual conference of the International Association for Near-Death Studies, held in Newport Beach, California, was outstanding. This time a number of physicians shared their near-death experiences. How's that for a switch. Doctors are being turned around, too. More and more nurses and social workers are getting involved, and are very interested in the aftereffects. The next one will be in San Antonio, Texas for 2015. Start saving your money now. There is absolutely nothing else, no other conference opportunity, that matches the power of a near-death conference - the way it affects people - and the opportunity for experiencers to be with folks "just like them." Really quite incredible, all of it.

ANOTHER MYTH IN PROGRESS, HOW THE MEDIA DEFINES WHAT A NEAR-DEATH EXPERIENCE IS

In l982, the Gallup Poll did the first scientific survey of the near-death experience. Only 9% of those surveyed claimed to have seen or passed through a tunnel to reach "the other side of death."  "Tunnels" became household images after several years of relentless  media campaigns to sensationalize Raymond E. Moody, Jr.'s first book, Life After Life. And, the idea that experiencers always returned more loving and generous, honest and kind, didn't mesh either.  Researchers in Europe claimed to have found that many experiencers went through periods of depressions and confusion afterwards. Because of this, and the lack of tunnel reports, they dubbed the near-death experience an American phenomenon.
Throughout the world, then and now, the tunnel as a signature feature of the near-death experience exists only in the mythology that the media created.  As far as what comes next, we have since learned that the aftereffects pattern is much more extensive than originally thought - physiologically and psychologically - and can take years to integrate.
Today research is global, and on many fronts, giving us new definitions and a more in-depth understanding of what people describe when they report having encountered life on the other side of death.  The International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS) keeps up with the latest facts and discoveries on their website at www.iands.org.  Recommended for any reader is the encyclopedic The Big Book of Near-Death Experiences (although originally written by me, the book is now the property of IANDS).
So, here we go again. . .  the making of another media myth.
Because of a rash of new interest about the phenomenon, caused by a number of best-selling books written by experiencers, the media is busy creating a frenzy of television stories, articles, movies, and news items that firmly establish in the public's mind that the only valid near-death experience is one that happens in a hospital under the watchful eye of doctors and nurses, beeping equipment, and code blue stat.
Decidedly not true.  Conservative figures for near-death experiences that happen to people in a hospital environment is between 12 to 21%.  That's hardly a majority. Even those researchers who now report upwards of 28%, that still doesn't vindicate the media from stretching facts.  Near-death experiences happen anywhere to anyone at any time.  A few make it to a hospital.  Most never do.
Who does the public believe?  The media version, of course.  Where does that leave the vast majority of near-death experiencers worldwide?  Puzzled.  Differences between what actually occurs and what the media portrays are still vast.
Certainly, news and entertainment sources, under pressure to feature a story line that fits their allotment of time with sponsor approval, go after subjects that earn them high ratings.  Virtually lost in the shuffle is the range of experience types and how the pattern of aftereffects turns people's lives around physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.  This is no small thing.  Neither is it easy for experiencers to be told by television producers that what they experienced is not valid because it never occurred during or after surgery.
Yes, here we go again.  Myths over truth.

The IANDS Conference, New NDE Film, and a Call for Study Participants

ANNOUNCEMENTS

* * * For those who missed the near-death conference in Arlington, Virginia, last week you can still order DVDs and CDs of the various talks. The conference produced by IANDS was the largest, best, and most exciting ever, in the history of such conferences. I mean this was exceptional! You especially want to get the one for "Panel: Physicians discuss their own NDEs and medical practices." With more and more medical physicians speaking up, this changes the conversation about what is real, what is fact, and what we can trust. The Panel with Chaplains was also exceptional. Yes, ministers are finally speaking up - Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, Episcopalian. All speakers were of the finest we ever had, so anything you choose will be great. As to mine, "From Near-Death Kids to New Kids," you might want to download that paper from my website, www.pmhatwater.com - Article Section, alongwith all four charts, as my talk was interrupted by the noise of my necklace and me getting a little excited. Save your money and download the paper and four charts for free. You can contact IANDS for a copy of the order blank (2013 IANDS Conference), services@iands.org, or you can deal direct with the recording company, Backcountry Recording from Oregon - their e-mail is info@BackcountryRecording.com.

**** The film "Near-Death Experience: What Medical Professionals Need to Know" is now finished and available - for purchase and/or for showing. This is absolutely outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please tell your hospital, doctors, nurses, EMT crews, everyone about this training film. Download the colorful and detailed brochure at http://iands.org/news/news/front-page-news/969-nde-training-video-on-sale-September-10.html.

**** A very different research project is now underway. Ryan D. Foster, Ph.D., Marymount University and Jan Holden, Ed.D., University of North Texas are investigating "Spontaneous Mediumship Experiences of Near-Death Experiencers." To participate, just follow this line to the survey questions, fill it out, and submit your answers. Access: http://untedu.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_3vCZUjrmeY1Cdp3.

**** Remember, The Big Book of Near-Death Experiences is once again available, but in limited release, until commercially available everywhere in the Spring of 2014. The two place where you can get the book now are: www.iands.org and www.pmhatwater.com. With this edition, and from now on, IANDS owns the book. I gave it to them. Any royalties paid goes directly to them. By rights, IANDS, as the central clearinghouse of information and research on near-death experiences worldwide, should have this book. Now they do.

NDEs IN THE NEWS and A 9/11 Addendum

CBS News in Richmond, Virginia, interviewed Dr. Bruce Greyson, Dr. Eben Alexander, and Wayne Hart about his own near-death experience. The program was billed "What happens when we die? Virginia researchers investigate near-death experiences." Along with the interview, the station conducted a survey. The question was "Do you believe in Life after Death? The result as of the afternoon of the survey: 601 votes yes, 82 votes no.

Please, do not miss the big, and I do mean big, near-death conference to be held in Washington, D.C. late August. REGISTER NOW. Go to www.iands.org. The conference is sponsored by the International Association for Near-Death Studies. Yup, I'll be there - as a pre-conference workshop leader, and delivering a talk on "From Near-Death Kids to the New Kids: An Evolving World." The pre-conference workshop is titled "Getting Real: A no-nonsense look at NDEs and their aftereffects."

Cleve Backster just died. He was that incredibly curious polygraph expert who began to experiment on plants and animal cells to see if they are capable of responding to human communication. His work with such biocommunication led to the theory of "primary perception." He obtained startling and impossible findings. . . that established that plants perceive human intentions, can respond to pain as well as thought, are aware of each other and their surroundings, and much much more. Cleve's findings were immortalized in the book: The Secret Life of Plants by Peter Tompkins and Christopher Bird.

We miss you Cleve. So glad you had a curious mind and did the experiments that you did. You opened the door to the fact that all things communicate with all things. We are aware of each other on some level by the very fact that we are alive.

Blessings, PMH

It is almost 12 yrs since 9/11 and here is a wonderful story about that terrible day.

Jerry Brown Delta Flight 15... (true story)

Here is an amazing story from a flight attendant on Delta Flight 15,written following 9-11:

On the morning of Tuesday, September 11, we were about 5 hours out of Frankfurt, flying over the North Atlantic. All of a sudden the curtains parted and I was told to go to the cockpit, immediately, to see the captain. As soon as I got there I noticed that the crew had that "All Business" look on their faces. The captain handed me a printed message. It was from Delta's main office in Atlanta and simply read, "All airways over the Continental United States are closed to commercial air traffic. Land ASAP at the nearest airport. Advise your destination."

No one said a word about what this could mean. We knew it was a serious situation and we needed to find terra firma quickly. The captain determined that the nearest airport was 400 miles behind us in Gander, New Foundland.

He requested approval for a route change from the Canadian traffic controller and approval was granted immediately -- no questions asked. We found out later, of course, why there was no hesitation in approving our request.

While the flight crew prepared the airplane for landing, anothermessage arrived from Atlanta telling us about some terrorist activity in the New York area. A few minutes later word came in about the hijackings.

We decided to LIE to the passengers while we were still in the air. We told them the plane had a simple instrument problem and that we needed to land at the nearest airport in Gander, New Foundland, to have it checked out.

We promised to give more information after landing in Gander. There was much grumbling among the passengers, but that's nothing new! Forty minutes later, we landed in Gander. Local time at Gander was 12:30 PM! .... that's 11:00 AM EST.

There were already about 20 other airplanes on the ground from all over the world that had taken this detour on their way to the U.S.

After we parked on the ramp, the captain made the followingannouncement: "Ladies and gentlemen, you must be wondering if all these airplanes around us have the same instrument problem as we have. The reality is that we are here for another reason." Then he went on to explain the little bit we knew about the situation in the U.S. There were loud gasps and stares of disbelief. The captain informed passengers that Ground control in Gander told us to stay put.

The Canadian Government was in charge of our situation and no one was allowed to get off the aircraft. No one on the ground was allowed to come near any of the aircrafts. Only airport police would come around periodically, look us over and go on to the next airplane. In the next hour or so more planes landed and Gander ended up with 53 airplanes from all over the world, 27 of which were U.S. commercial jets.

Meanwhile, bits of news started to come in over the aircraft radio and for the first time we learned that airplanes were flown into the World Trade Center in New York and into the Pentagon in DC. People were trying to use their cell phones, but were unable to connect due to a different cell system in Canada. Some did get through, but were only able to get to the Canadian operator who would tell them that the lines to the U.S. were either blocked or jammed.

Sometime in the evening the news filtered to us that the World Trade Center buildings had collapsed and that a fourth hijacking had resulted in a crash. By now the passengers were emotionally and physically exhausted, not to mention frightened, but everyone stayed amazingly calm. We had only to look out the window at the 52 other stranded aircraft to realize that we were not the only ones in this predicament.

We had been told earlier that they would be allowing people off the planes one plane at a time. At 6 PM, Gander airport told us that our turn to deplane would be 11 am the next morning. Passengers were not happy, but they simply resigned themselves to this news without much noise and started to prepare themselves to spend the night on the airplane.

Gander had promised us medical attention, if needed, water, andlavatory servicing. And they were true to their word. Fortunately we had no medical situations to worry about. We did have a young lady who was 33 weeks into her pregnancy. We took REALLY good care of her. The night passed without incident despite the uncomfortable sleeping arrangements.

About 10:30 on the morning of the 12th a convoy of school buses showed up. We got off the plane and were taken to the terminal where we went through Immigration and Customs and then had to register with the Red Cross.

After that we (the crew) were separated from the passengers and were taken in vans to a small hotel. We had no idea where our passengers were going. We learned from the Red Cross that the town of Gander has a population of 10,400 people and they had about 10,500 passengers to take care of from all the airplanes that were forced into Gander! We were told to just relax at the hotel and we would be contacted when the U.S. airports opened again, but not to expect that call for a while.

We found out the total scope of the terror back home only after getting to our hotel and turning on the TV, 24 hours after it all started.

Meanwhile, we had lots of time on our hands and found that the people of Gander were extremely friendly. They started calling us the "plane people." We enjoyed their hospitality, explored the town of Gander and ended up having a pretty good time.

Two days later, we got that call and were taken back to the Gander airport. Back on the plane, we were reunited with the passengers and found out what they had been doing for the past two days. What we found out was incredible.

Gander and all the surrounding communities (within MATCH about a 75 Kilometer radius) had closed all high schools, meeting halls, lodges, and any other large gathering places. They converted all these facilities to mass lodging areas for all the stranded travelers. Some had cots set up, some had mats with sleeping bags and pillows set up.

ALL the high school students were required to volunteer their time to take care of the "guests." Our 218 passengers ended up in a town called Lewisporte, about 45 kilometers from Gander where they were put up in a high school. If any women wanted to be in a women-only facility, that was arranged. Families were kept together. All the elderly passengers were taken to private homes.

Remember that young pregnant lady? She was put up in a private home right across the street from a 24-hour Urgent Care facility. There was a dentist on call and both male and female nurses remained with the crowd for the duration.

Phone calls and e-mails to the U.S. and around the world were available to everyone once a day. During the day, passengers were offered "Excursion" trips. Some people went on boat cruises of the lakes and harbors. Some went for hikes in the local forests. Local bakeries stayed open to make fresh bread for the guests.

Food was prepared by all the residents and brought to the schools. People were driven to restaurants of their choice and offered wonderful meals. Everyone was given tokens for local laundry mats to wash their clothes, since luggage was still on the aircraft. In other words, every single need was met for those stranded travelers.

Passengers were crying while telling us these stories. Finally, when they were told that U.S. airports had reopened, they were delivered to the airport right on time and without a single passenger missing or late. The local Red Cross had all the information about the whereabouts of each and every passenger and knew which plane they needed to be on and when all the planes were leaving. They coordinated everything beautifully.

It was absolutely incredible.

When passengers came on board, it was like they had been on a cruise. Everyone knew each other by name. They were swapping stories of their stay, impressing each other with who had the better time. Our flight back to Atlanta looked like a chartered party flight. The crew just stayed out of their way. It was mind-boggling.

Passengers had totally bonded and were calling each other by their first names, exchanging phone numbers, addresses, and email addresses.

And then a very unusual thing happened.

One of our passengers approached me and asked if he could make an announcement over the PA system. We never, ever allow that. But this time was different. I said "of course" and handed him the mike. He picked up the PA and reminded everyone about what they had just gone through in the last few days. He reminded them of the hospitality they had received at the hands of total strangers. He continued by saying that he would like to do something in return for the good folks of Lewisporte.

"He said he was going to set up a Trust Fund under the name of DELTA 15 (our flight number). The purpose of the trust fund is to provide college scholarships for the high school students of Lewisporte. He asked for donations of any amount from his fellow travelers. When the paper with donations got back to us with the amounts, names, phone numbers and addresses, the total was for more than $14,000!

"The gentleman, a MD from Virginia, promised to match the donations and to start the administrative work on the scholarship. He also said that he would forward this proposal to Delta Corporate and ask them to donate as well.

As I write this account, the trust fund is at more than $1.5 millionand has assisted 134 students in college education.

"I just wanted to share this story because we need good stories right now. It gives me a little bit of hope to know that some people in a faraway place were kind to some strangers who literally dropped in on them.

It reminds me how much good there is in the world."

"In spite of all the rotten things we see going on in todays worldthis story confirms that there are still a lot of good and Godly people in the world and when things get bad, they will come forward.

"God Bless America... and God Bless the Canadians."
