As you will note from this list, the decade of the nineties produced far and away the most films of this sort.

No, the film is based on a 1940's short story called "Mimsy Were the Borogroves" by Lewis Padgett. The title of the movie comes from a line of Lewis Carroll's "The Jabberwocky." See my blog at: " Don't miss the movie "The Last Mimzy""
